Books, Bites, and Booze: Round Two

April 19, 2010

The first meeting of Books, Bites, and Booze was a great success! Kelly and I ate rarebit and drank Two-Hearted Ale with a few other lovely ladies while ACTUALLY DISCUSSING Molly Wizenberg’s A Homemade Life: Stories From My Kitchen Table.  For our next selection, we decided we’d like to read something from the perspective of a professional chef. I’ve had Michael Ruhlman’s chef series on my reading list for a while, so we’ll leave it up to you guys as to which volume we read. Dudes welcome, FYI.

We’ll meet near the end of May, details TBD.  Hope you can join us!

At risk of being self serving, if you haven’t seen my most recent blog post (http://fabulousfoodfanatic.com/2010/04/16/fanatic-freed-from-phobias-at-famous-food-facility-i-e-the-culinary-institute-of-america/), you might want to have a look – it is about taking classes at the CIA. The Making of a Chef really makes the place come alive. I have a sense that there is an order to the three books – the next two are waiting for me on my bedside table.
